In may of 2022 I was musical director for NUTS’ production of Dracula by Steven Dietz. I chose to accomany the production with live piano - which I would improvise each night. For each show, I would construct an improvised soundtrack, reacting to the cast and the action on stage to match their variations in timing and delivery.

During one night of the production I recorded my piano performance in full to prepare an album release. As I played for almost the entire show - the result of this recording was over 2 hours of music, which I subsequently split into two volumes in line with each of the play’s two acts.

Often dissonant, often bombastic but always improvisational and free my soundtrack to Dracula is a unique pair of solo piano albums that match the tone of the king of Vampires - the man hismelf - Dracula.
